Mark Selby and Stephen Maguire go head-to-head in the Welsh Open final this afternoon. Both players are eyeing up their second Welsh Open titles, with the Jester from Leicester winning the event in 2008 and his opponent claiming the top prize five years later.
This year’s tournament has proven to be another enthralling one, despite the fact Ronnie O’Sullivan angered some fans by pulling out hours before he was scheduled to take on Jamie Clarke in his opener.
The winner of today’s showdown will be handed a whopping £100,000, while the runner-up will take home £45,000.
Selby booked his place in the final after dispatching Luca Brecel 6-3 in the semi-finals.
Maguire, meanwhile, progressed to the showpiece match after overcoming Ali Carter 6-4 in a late finish.
