Chandrika Dixit said that her nani (maternal grandmother) adopted her officially when she was around eight or nine years old. It seems she found out that Chandrika was being shuffled around homes of relatives. Talking to Shorey and Khatwani, she said she deeply resented her father. It seems none of the relatives treated her well. She said she would always get the last roti left for the day.
