Lando Norris has taken plenty of lessons from his 2024 season but admitted that he wasn’t at the level required to fight for a title for most of the campaign.
“That I have what it takes, I think it is the first time in the last six years of Formula One when we have had a chance to fight at the front,” Norris replied when asked what he learned in 2024. “This is our, and my, first opportunity to do so and my first opportunity to see where I stand.
“I definitely wasn’t at the level I needed to be at [for] the beginning of the year and even at the Miami point of the season. Since the summer break, I feel like I have done a good job and performed very, very well, by far some of the best performances I have done.
“I wouldn’t change many things that have happened. I still need to make tweaks and improve on things, that is clear. For the first time, I am confident to say that I have what I think I need to fight for a championship.
“That doesn’t mean I’m complete or perfect that is for sure. The main thing I can take away is that I have faith that I have what it takes to fight for a championship.”
