World Snooker Championship LIVE: Kyren Wilson vs David Gilbert score updates | Other | Sport

Kyren Wilson revealed that he was told off by his brother for attempting the tournament’s first 147 break.

In the final frame of the session, Wilson built up a break of 88 and was firmly set on attempting a maximum, but came up just short when attempting a late red.

Wilson admitted that it would have been “special” to make a 147 in front of his children, who missed his first and only Crucible maximum, but his brother was far from happy.

“It was a good session, very open and attacking,” Wilson told the BBC. “There were lots of good breaks. You want to perform for the crowd and that’s why I tried for a cheeky 147.

“It would have been so special to make it in front of my boys. My brother [Taylor] told me off (for not concentrating on winning the frame).”
